Todd was born to his mother Faye Chrisley, and father Gene Raymond Chrisley, on April the 6th, 1969. The family led quite a humbling life, and his parents were extremely hard-working, middle-class people with simple standards. They were the ones who taught Todd about good work ethic and gave him a strong vision, as well as a mission and values in his younger life.

His father was part of the US Army and fought for his country during the Korean War. Sadly, Gene passed away after battling cancer in 2012. [6]

His mother worked in a textile mill, and when the boys were younger, she would work up to 60 hours a week to try and make ends meet. Nowadays, it’s clear that Faye is a rather intriguing character. She loves to drink and gamble and occasionally says she would like to ride a motorcycle.

Todd seems to spend quite a lot of time making sure that his mother doesn’t come in harm’s way and keeps her out of trouble, but I don’t know if this was the case when he was growing up or whether this is something that has occurred as she’s gotten older, or since the passing of her husband. I believe she has also recently been diagnosed with cancer, which I imagine is even more of a strain on the family’s relationship. [7]

This isn’t what most people recognize him for, though. Of course, he is probably most well-known for being the centerpiece of his reality TV show, Chrisley Knows Best.

The show started on March the 11th, 2014, and continued for 9 seasons, the latest being aired in 2021.

It follows the life of Chrisley and his family and received mixed reviews during the first two seasons. One review said it was the “best family reality TV series since Here Comes Baby Boo” and was compared to the hit reality series’ The Osbournes. At one time, people thought it may become the next Kardashians.

In 2015, Todd started to develop a talk show focusing on the lives of himself and his daughter Savannah. [8] Savanna later did another show with her brother Chase which involved them taking a road trip to Los Angeles. The point was to prove their independence despite their wealth. Altogether there were 3 seasons of the show called Growing Up Chrisley.

In 2016, the Chrisley Knows Best show was nominated for Best Unstructured Reality TV Series at the 22nd Critics Choice Awards, but didn’t win.

Things jolted to a stop for Chrisey in 2019 when he and his wife were investigated by the Georgia Dept of Revenue after being charged with fraud and tax evasion, which I will go into more detail about below.

Todd Chrisley Business Failures

It has been a bumpy ride for Todd and his family regarding finances and criminal actions. The first started over 10 years ago when he filed a petition for Chapter twelve bankruptcy protection after accumulating almost $50 million in debt due to a failed real-estate investment. He was lucky enough in this instance that his wife Julie had a bit of money behind her and managed to pull them out of the woods.

Things got a bit more severe in 2019 when the Georgia Dept of Revenue charged Todd for bank fraud and tax evasion. It turned out that they had been giving the bank false documents to take out loans that were funding their lavish lifestyles. The couple handed themselves in and were forced to pay $100,000.

Even though they had settled their case with the department of revenue, it was later revealed that there was even more to it, and more fraudulent activity had taken place, an action which was that of a federal level.

The trial began in May this year (2022) and ended in June. They were charged with convictions that could lead to spending the next 30 years in prison. This is still ongoing, and their sentencing date has not yet been revealed.

First Marriage and Children

Todd was married to his first wife, the pair were high school sweethearts, and they married in 1990. They had two children, Lindsie and Kyle, and divorced in 1996. The divorce came after Teresa had accused her husband of being abusive towards her; he denied all of the accusations.

It wasn’t long before Todd was re-married, the same year, in fact. He married his now wife Julie Chrisley in May of that year.

Lindsie

Linde is the oldest child of Todd Chrisley, and no longer has any contact with her father. Her relationship with Will Campbell began in 2009, and they eloped, much to their parents’ dissatisfaction . They had a pretty bumpy marriage, which nearly ended in divorce on two occasions, and on the third separation, they divided all of their assets and finally divorced in 2021. They shared a son together, whose name is Jackson.

Savannah

With his first wife, Teresa, Savannah is the second daughter that Todd had. She is known as the rose in the family because she has won awards in beauty contests and also won in the Miss Tennessee Teen USA competition.

She is very close with her younger brother Chase and took part in a spin-off show with him where the siblings traveled to Los Angeles.

Savannah also launched her own beauty brand called Sassy by Savannah, which sells various beauty products such as hair accessories and perfume.

At one point, she was dating professional hockey player Nic Kerdiles; they are no longer together but remain good friends.

Chase

Chase is the eldest child of Todd and Julie and has a very close relationship with his sister savannah.

He launched a career in acting in Los Angeles but later returned to Nashville.

He has had high-profile romantic partners, such as Kayla Puzaz and Emmy Medders. Chase was planning on proposing to Emmy, but after checking out their social media, it appears they are no longer an item.

Kyle

Kyle was always classed as the black sheep of the family and had a complex relationship with them, although it seems that he has recently rebuilt a relationship with his father.

He has had many struggles, such as drug addiction and bipolar, which meant that he was never really included in the family TV show. I think he actually only appeared once.

He has a daughter named Chloe, whom he could not take off, meaning that Todd and Julie took full custody of their grandchild. Kyle accused Todd of using Chloe to boost ratings.

In 2019, Kyle was taken to hospital after an attempted suicide; Kyle blamed it on the medication he was taking at the time, but now he seems to be doing much better.

Grayson

The youngest of the bunch, Grayson, is the young entrepreneur of the family. He launched his own sneaker company, which Todd supported by purchasing his products. But as time went on, Grayson believed that his father’s fraudulent reputation was affecting the success of his business.

Of course, things are looking bleak for Todd, and any holdings he has may not be his for much longer, but let’s look at what he did have before his world came crumbling down.

In 2019, his wife Julie bought an upmarket home in Brentwood, for which she paid $3,375,000 from former famous hockey player Mike Ribeiro. The couple renovated the house before trying to sell it for $4.75 million. It was on the market for a year but never sold, and as far as we know, Julie still owns the home, which is 12,753 square feet set within an acre of land.

It has a form dining room, handmade wallpaper, a wine cellar, a sports court, a recreational space, a wood-paneled office with an ornate ceiling, and a patio with a large barbeque and fireplace leisure area with a spa and pool.

They purchased a quaint home in Belle Meade for $1.6 million, which features a living room with french doors, an open plan kitchen, a wet bar, and two fireplaces; it sits on half an acre of grounds.

In 2006, Todd bought a 16-acre estate in Atlanta, which he paid $9 million for; it is believed that this property had 8 bedrooms. I think he lost this property around 2012.

They also had a 9-bedroom home in Roswell, which was in a gated community and offered a beautiful landscape, a heated saltwater pool, a terrace with a fireplace, a hot tub, and a playground. The property was sold in 2014 for $1.2 billion.

They leased property in Suwannee in 2014 as a backdrop for their TV shows; it sits on the sixth hole of the River Golf Club and features teak flooring, an office, grand fireplaces, a dining room, dual closets, and views across the golf course. The lease on this home was a whopping $8,000 a month.

Their last home was a 4 bedroom property in Alpharetta, which was passed down to Todd by his mother. The property was sold in 2017 for $540,000
